National Festival of Wedding Tourism “Love and Wine in Nesebar”
Every year from February 14 to 16, Nesebar turns into a romantic capital of love and wine. The town welcomes couples from all over the country with a rich and colorful program full of emotions and a wide variety of entertainment. Here, couples can plan their upcoming wedding and take part in traditional celebrations, concerts  and exhibitions.
The Municipality of Nesebar welcomes and supports all couples who wish to get married, renew their vows or celebrate their golden or silver wedding anniversary in a special way.


International Children’s Festival “Sun, Joy, Beauty” – Nesebar
From June 15 to 20, Nesebar turns into an inspiring center of children’s art during the International Children’s Festival “Sun, Joy, Beauty”. The festival welcomes thousands of participants from Bulgaria and abroad, including Germany, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Ukraine. The event is dedicated to children, aiming to nurture their talents by giving them a platform to showcase their skills.
The forum begins with a ceremonial parade of the participants across the isthmus, connecting the new and the old part of the town. In front of the gates of Old Nesebar, accompanied by the national anthems, the flags of the participating countries are raised. During these five days, the children present their talents in dance, vocal, instrumental and visual arts.

International Festival “Nesebar – Island of  Arts”
At the beginning of July, the UNESCO town once again transforms into a stage for children’s creativity and art with the launch of the International Festival “Nesebar – Island of Arts”. The forum takes place on the amphitheater stage and features ensembles, creative groups, choirs, formations and performers from Bulgaria, Belarus, Estonia, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine.
The festival is organized by the Municipality of Nesebar and the Municipal Children’s Complex – Nesebar. More than 600 children and young people participate in the festival program, having the opportunity to showcase their skills, abilities and talents in the unique atmosphere of ancient Nesebar.

International Art Festival “Constellations in Nesebar”
Another cultural gem is the “Constellations in Nesebar”’ Festival, held annually from August 20 to 24 on the shores of the Black Sea.  The event is organized by the Municipality of Nesebar and the Municipal Children’s Complex – Nesebar.
During the competition days, the UNESCO World Heritage town transforms into a colorful stage of art and beauty, providing all young participants with the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents. Different cultures and traditions meet here and the festival atmosphere inspires and delights both participants and visitors. The program includes ensembles, chamber groups, dance and music ensembles, as well as solo performers.
The organizers aim to develop children’s and youth creativity through collaboration between instructors and participants from different countries, bringing young people together in creative alliances. The festival also contributes to introducing participants to the culture and natural landmarks of Nesebar and the region.

ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN MARY – CELEBRATION OF THE TOWN OF NESEBAR
The celebration of Nesebar takes place on August 15, when the Orthodox Church commemorates the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This day is especially significant for the town, as the Virgin Mary is considered its patroness. Traditionally, the festivities include a variety of cultural and religious events for locals and visitors of all ages.
The program begins with a solemn Liturgy at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the morning hours. This is followed by a ceremonial raising of the national flag in front of the Old Town fortress walls. During the day, various events and children’s activities are organized. The evening hours are filled with concerts by renowned Bulgarian and international performers on stages such as the Zhanna Chimbuleva Amphitheater and the square in front of the fortress walls. The highlight of the celebration is an impressive light show and pyromusical performance, attracting thousands of spectators.
In recent years, Nesebar has traditionally turned its day – August 15, the Feast of the Assumption – into an attractive tourist event, drawing nearly 100,000 visitors to the peninsula.

International Folklore Festival “Nesebar's Jewelry”
The International Folklore Festival “Nesebar's Jewelry” is an annual event aimed at preserving and promoting the rich folklore heritage of the region. The festival is organized by the Municipality of Nesebar and the “Yana Laskova 1905” Community Center, Nesebar. It takes place at the beginning of June.
The event is competitive in nature, and traditionally it features participation from Bulgarian and international singing groups, folk choirs, folklore dance ensembles, folk dance clubs, folklore ensembles and instrumentalists.

International Competition “I Love the Black Sea”
The competition is part of the Municipality of Nesebar’s program celebrating October 31 – International Black Sea Day. With an environmental focus, the event inspires young people to appreciate the beauty of the Black Sea and promotes ecological responsibility. Participants can showcase their talents in a variety of categories, including visual arts, literature, and photography.

National Fish Festival “Autumn Passages”
The festival honors one of the town’s oldest and most cherished traditions – fishing. It is usually held at the end of October in Mesambria Square in Old Nesebar. Visitors have the opportunity to taste a variety of fish delicacies and specialties prepared by local producers and restaurateurs. A head chef demonstrates his skills, presenting unique fish dishes. The program also includes performances by local and guest vocal artists, contributing to the festive atmosphere of the event.
The “Autumn Passages” festival has established itself as one of the most anticipated events in Nesebar’s cultural calendar, attracting numerous visitors from Bulgaria and abroad. It offers guests the chance to enjoy the richness of local cuisine, culture and traditions associated with fishing.

National Pop-Rock Festival – Nesebar
On the shores of the Black Sea, Nesebar comes alive with the energy of the Pop-Rock Festival – a place for music, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences. The festival is held annually during the last week of August and is organized by the Municipality of Nesebar and the “Yana Laskova 1905” Community Center.
The event provides a stage for young performers and creators of original music. The program features vocal-instrumental pop-rock bands, solo pop-rock performers, and vocal ensembles ranging from duets to octets. The festival is competitive, with participants evaluated by a jury. All award-winning participants receive a diploma and a statuette from the organizers.

The International Choir Festival of Sacred Music “Bogoroditse Devo, raduisya” is an annual event held in September, bringing together choirs from different countries to perform church music. The festival is organized by the Community Center “Yana Laskova – 1905” and is held under the patronage of the Holy Metropolis of Sliven and the Municipality of Nessebar.
The event aims to promote and preserve the traditions of sacred music, encourage interest in church singing arts and create a unifying musical space for representatives of various nations and cultures.

National Honey Festival
Every year, at the end of August and the beginning of September, Nessebar hosts the International Honey Festival. The event takes place at Mesambria Square in the Old Town and brings together beekeepers from across the country. The festival is named after its founder, the renowned local beekeeper Kiril Kirov, whose legacy is carried on by his son, Nikolay Kirov.
Visitors to the festival can discover a wide range of bee products, including various types of honey, beeswax souvenirs, honey-based ointments and natural cosmetics.

National Festival “The Sea Rages, Obzor Dances”
Another exciting event takes place in June in the town of Obzor – the folklore festival “The Sea Rages, Obzor Dances”. The festival showcases the richness and diversity of Bulgarian folklore and promotes the town not only as a seaside tourist destination, but also as a cultural center that preserves Bulgarian traditions and heritage.
Each year, the festival delights audiences with a colorful dance program featuring performances from folklore groups representing different ethnographic regions of Bulgaria. The main festival venues are Freedom Square in the center of Obzor and the Amphitheatre Stage, where the concerts and dance performances are held.
